I Am An Artist: Advice, motivation and actions to help you on your artist's journey.

Are you a creative soul who is trying to find your artistic feet, or warring with your self confidence as a creator? This beautiful project may just change your life... or at least give you a little boost.

Kiwi artists Z.R. Southcombe, Megan Murphy, Andrew Black, Catherine Warren, and Jane Thorne have joined forces to share their experiences, advice, encouragement and inspiration.

I Am An Artist begins with exploring what and artist is and what it means to be one, and includes activities throughout.

All this has been wonderfully embellished by young artist and illustrator Anna Simpson.

"I wish that I had something like this book growing up - which makes me so proud to have been a part of this!"

- Catherine Warren

I agree. This would have been amazing to have when I was in school, and is great to have on hand as an adult for when you find yourself having a full-on crisis of confidence, or just need some inspiration to get out of a smaller rut.

If you know someone (particularly a young person) who is struggling to find confidence in their abilities, or exploring what it means to be a creative, then this would be a wonderful gift.

Art teachers, you should seriously consider having a copy or two in your class.

And for the English teachers and aspiring scribes, I Am A Writer is an equally inspiring collaboration from ZR Southcombe, Sue Copsey, Izak Smells,

Helen Tau’au-Filisi, and J.C. Hart. This project is also illustrated by Anna Simpson.

It is available here.
