Sue Copsey

Sue Copsey is an award-winning writer of spooky adventure stories for older children and young adults.

She lives in New Zealand, which is "disappointingly low on ghosts compared to [her] native England."

Sue was a senior editor at Dorling Kindersley in London before moving to NZ, where she now works as a freelance writer and editor.

In 2016, her novel The Ghosts of Tarawera (the second in the Spooky Adventures series) won a Notable Book Award from the Storylines Children's Literature Trust of New Zealand.

“A gripping tale … halfway between a spooky ghost story and a classic children’s adventure tale, with a murder mystery twist.”

– Paul Cameron, CEO, Booktrack

The third in the series, The Ghosts of Moonlight Creek, has just been published (Oct 2016).

As well as children's fiction, Sue has produced many non-fiction books, including the UK Times Educational Supplement award winner Children Just Like Me, and Our Children Aotearoa, which also won a Notable Book Award (2012).

Sue has two children and lives in Auckland.
